White Flow Alps

2020 August 20th, Fernanda went for a speed ascent and descent of the Gran Paradiso, one the most epic mountains in the Alps - 4.061m (13.323ft).
I ran in solo style from 1879m (6.160ft) to the summit and back, without a rope.
It took me ‪2h40‬' to complete the single record, only running up. And, ‪4h03‬, going up and coming back down on the long classic route.

After this female FKT, I went straight to Cervinia, in Italy, to start my run and climb to the Matterhorn summit (4.478m/14690ft). These mountains represent both an incredible physical and emotional challenge. I have been trying to climb Matterhorn for many years but after some hard times, having spent a few days in a hospital with frozen eyes, and the death of my flatmate Gonzalo, last year in this same mountain. I was scared to do this project, but at the same time I had the urge to complete it. When I pushed my body, running on high altitude glaciers of Gran Paradiso was already hard, but this particular fear that I have to be in Matterhorn was the most challenging. It paralyses me. Matterhorn is such a dangerous mountain. I couldn't believe it when I reached the summit of Matterhorn after facing my fears. It was an emotional journey, I cried a lot on the summit remembering all my past. I'm super happy to see that I could do my best having a fast time on Gran Paradiso and a successful climb to the top of Matterhorn.
